On the Picture above you can see how a beautiful center piece medallion was damaged while original ceiling was covered. They broke the center piece almost in half to make space for a beam needed for dry wall installation. As a result large part of the artwork was lost.
We used well known technique to reproduce lost part of medallion. We perfectly replicated intact part of the center piece which was symmetric to the lost one. For that purpose we made a cast on the spot from several layers of silicon rubber (pictures 2 and 3).

The process of making cast on the spot and then casting the lost part is described in detail in our article HOW TO REPRODUCE DAMAGED CROWN MOLDING. We essentially used the same process, we casted the missing parts of center piece and screwed them to the ceiling (picture 4).

After we put together all lost parts the medallion we filled the gaps between the parts with plaster mix (pictures 5 and 6). Filling process also is described in greater detail in the article mentioned above.

After filling gaps and sanding carefully for several times center piece was one piece again and was ready to be painted (picture 7).
